A range of bowls with a slip Nautilus pattern. This is stamped into thick slip on the inside of the bowl shortly after throwing, which creates a raised pattern for the glaze to flow over. The unique pattern is created during the firing as the glazes melt and flow down the piece. Each piece shows the point at which the liquid glaze cooled enough to become frozen mid-flow. The glaze used on the outside is a creamy white which can vary slightly in lightness depending on the pieces nearby in the firing, so each piece will be unique to its placement in the kiln.

The default design is Storm Blue glaze over black slip, as shown in the first image. Please let me know if you’d like a different glaze/slip.

• Trinket Bowls are approximately 10cm in diameter and 4cm tall.

• Useful Bowls are approximately 12cm in diameter and 6cm tall.

• Cereal Bowls are approximately 15cm in diameter and 8cm tall.

Standard pieces are made to order, so will usually take between 2-8 weeks to produce. The time taken to produce will depend on the number of orders I already have, the clay I’m currently throwing in (I try to keep the light and dark clays separate to avoid contamination), and whether the order works first time (they usually do, but there are no guarantees with clay).
