Hole Cutting Guides
Hole Cutting Guides
These laser cut acrylic tools are used to easily and precisely mark the centres of holes. I originally designed them to be an aid when making teapots, but they can be used to mark holes in soap/sponge holders or anything else where a regular hexagonal grid is wanted.
Each set contains 3 guides with different hole spacings - 8mm, 12mm, 16mm (approx 0.31”, 0.47”, 0.62”). These are the measurements between centres and they can be used with a range of final hole sizes for different designs.
There are two designs for the set. The smaller design is a ring of 6 holes around a centre hole, and can be moved to extend the pattern beyond the starting 7 holes. The larger designs are the same but with an extra ring or two of holes so you can mark a greater area without moving it.
The holes cut in the acrylic are just over 2mm in diameter and every set will come with a 2mm drill bit to mark and drill the initial pattern. After this you can easily use larger drill bits to expand the holes.
