Drippy Slippy Mugs and Tumblers
Drippy Slippy Mugs and Tumblers
Please note: These pieces are made to order and will take 2-8 weeks to produce (see below).
The unique design of these mugs comes from the clay itself, rather than a glaze. I use liquid clay (called slip, hence the name), marbled with several colourants on the outside of the piece in a pattern that’s unique to each piece. This is applied thickly and, with a little encouragement, will flow down to created the colourful drips. The handle is pressed into the slip at this point. Once dry, the slip permanently fuses with the rest of the clay to become solid. I glaze the slip with a clear glossy glaze to bring the colours out, and the inside is glazed like the inside of a Storm Blue piece.
The default designs are taller, narrower pieces. If you’d prefer a shorter and wider cup shape, let me know.
The colours of the slip and lining glaze can be changed, talk to me about any alternatives you’d be interested in first.
Small holds approximately 250ml (~8oz).
Medium holds approximately 350ml (~12oz).
Large holds approximately 450ml (~15oz).
Giant holds approximately 550ml (~18oz)!
The Mug option comes with a handle, the Tumbler option does not have a handle
Standard pieces are made to order, so will usually take between 2-8 weeks to produce. The time taken to produce will depend on the number of orders I already have, the clay I’m currently throwing in (I try to keep the light and dark clays separate to avoid contamination), and whether the order works first time (they usually do, but there are no guarantees with clay).
If you need something sooner, please check when the next Limited Edition shop update is or message me to see if I can help get something made sooner
You can add personalisation to ceramic pieces.
Please note: images are examples of the design. The pieces are handmade and slight variations will occur in pattern and shape. I aim to take photos with colours that accurately depict the typical result but they may appear slightly different in real life, under different lighting conditions or due to different screen settings. Volume capacity is measured when filled to the rim.
